As the world pushes on towards a global goal of net-zero Green House Gas (GHG) emissions within the next half century, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) will be an important tool in reaching a net-zero GHG emissions goal. The use of hydrocarbons in the future energy mix is not going away; however, the need for the hydrocarbon industry to reach net-zero GHG emissions by using technology that in the past was not available or viable, is at the forefront. CCUS will be a technological application used to grow the low-emission hydrogen production from the natural gas industry.Drilling Fluids Senior Product Manager, JJ Miller, discusses our latest innovation in High Performance WBM offering - BaraHib. JJ will cover how we are able to measure, test, and treat high-performance additives such as amine-based shale inhibitors; which maximizes wellbore stability by ensuring effective clay inhibition through tracking via a direct measurement vs. an assumed product concentration. This also reduces emissions related Environmental Impact through the reuse of fluids, reducing waste management costs, and eliminating the discharge of oil-based mud cuttings.
